This diverse body of people provides Groningen a uniquely creative and interdisciplinary opportunity, exemplified by the dynamic startup scene.

Looking out of our window, we can see the beating heart of Groningen.
Buses, pedestrians and cyclists flow together, forming the vibrant and diverse lifeblood of our city. Our building couldn’t be better situated on the main market square in the middle of the city center.

Groningen, by most counts, is a small city with about 200.000 inhabitants. One fifth of those 200.000 inhabitants is studying at either the University of Groningen or the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, many of them from various international backgrounds. One could bike from one end to the other within the hour, and many people do on a daily basis, for either work or studies. This diverse body of people provides Groningen a uniquely creative and interdisciplinary opportunity, exemplified by the dynamic startup scene.

The city currently has over fifteen large incubators for startup companies. An incubator provides affordable workspace and a vibrant internal culture, so Blue Falcon joined up with Indietopia a while back. Indietopia is not like most game incubators, diversifying their focus instead. Housing game developers, app developers and social entrepreneurs, Indietopia provides a unique opportunity for all these companies to learn from and help each other. This close contact and cooperation make for a very helpful and pleasant atmosphere around our office.

What is remarkable for a city like Groningen, being as small as it is, is how culturally vibrant and diverse it is. This cultural diversity is what provides us with the perfect building blocks for the Coalition, incorporating that Dutch ideal of integration. The fact that all our team members work, live or study here obviously has nothing to do with our location.
